OUTREACH DEPARTMENT

The COA has a licensed social worker who provides needs assessment and referral to appropriate services.

File of Life: Keep important health information on file for emergency.

Respite Companion: A program designed to provide supervisory care and attention to isolated and/or convalescent elders in Littleton.

Senior Check and Alzheimer’s Identification : This program is provided in collaboration with the Littleton Police Department. The program allows the caregivers to keep an eye on your loved ones by registering with the COA and police Dept.

S.H.I.N.E: (Serving Health Information Needs of Elders) A trained counselor from Minuteman Senior Services provides free of charge, assistance with medical insurance issues. Please call the COA for an appointment.

Salvation army referrals: The COA provides referral to the Salvation Army for food vouchers.

Medical equipment: The COA refers people in need for temporary use of medical equipment, sponsored by the Rotary Club.

Senior Tax Rebate Program: This program enables taxpayers, 60 years old to volunteer their services to the municipality in exchange for a reduction in their tax bills. Seniors may earn a maximum reduction of $500 per fiscal year.

Tax Assistance: For the 7 th year, the COA has arranged with IRS/AARP foundation for Free Assistance in preparing Federal and State forms for the elderly and low/moderate income taxpayers. Trained persons will assist with the basic forms.
